CORRUGART

About Elliot Frantz

Three layers of cardboard are glued together; the center piece corrugated. Alone, its grainy texture is just that: texture. By peeling away select areas of the surface, the board is transformed to reveal imagery. The corrugate beneath gives depth, beyond a two-tone image, allowing for a second transformation to occur with only a small change in light.

After seeing a torn cardboard box, Elliot began experimenting. Today, six years later, he is still honing his craft and finds the concentration needed to be a source of meditation.

Though he often creates pieces based on his own inspirations, Elliot often takes commissioned work. While not working on “corrugart,” Elliot is producing videos, articles, and podcasts under the nickname “Professor Elliot” at ProfessorElliot.com
